Hi!! Me again :teethy:

I was wondering what the best Dizzy songs are! It seems like different versions have different tunes, and I've never played any Dizzy games (or anything at all) on a Spectrum. I grew up with a C64 but I never heard of Dizzy on it until recently!! But I love SID tunes.

The ones I played when I was younger were all on DOS, by the way.

I know it's a little silly to ask because I can just listen to all the ones posted on this site, and I plan to! But I was wondering what you all think {yolkfolk}:music:

Oh and am I right that the AY files are for Spectrum ones, and SNDH are for Atari ST? (I never had an ST either.)

My favourite from the ST were the musics from:

Fast Food, Hard & Medium levels
Kwik Snax, Intro, Cuckoo & Zaks levels
Fantasy World, Intro & main game
Treasure Island, Intro

btw You can take software like STSound to convert ST music ym files to wavs if you desire?

Also come across browsing on youtube - you could do worse than something like this.. especially the rif from about 1min on

The Audio in that video (well half of it) was a very very very very very old attempt at mixing Treasure Island Dizzy, about 4 years ago perhaps, you can tell It's mine It's badly done {yolkfolk}

I got some mixed views about the mix and I was always desperate to improve it, but I eventually gave up as I've got no music talent whatsoever.

As for the game, that was made by Matt_Dizzy who used to visit this forum a lot, but he's now heavily focused on his personal life.

I loved the music in all of the Spectrum Dizzy games and even in Fantasic Dizzy on the Mega Drive. My favourites are the music from Fantasy World Dizzy, Magic Land Dizzy and I also loved the music from Spellbound Dizzy as well.

I remember when I first loaded treasure island dizzy on my spectrum 128k +2. Becasue i was young and naive, I started in 48k mode and was disapointed to find (little?) no music in game. Imagine, then, my joy when the next time I played I started in 128k mode and was presented with that glorious music!

I genuinely loved all the songs; generally the speccy & C64 songs were the same (although they sometimes swapped them about, and C64 kwik snax was a different game altogether). I love the SID Chip in all its glory, but have to say I find the spectrum songs to be somewhat more hypnotising - less harsh or something!

You'll be horrified(!) to know I will be doing some more remixes in due course, although I'm away on business for the month so it won't be for a while...

Well then the best melody in DIZZY TUCA, the Russian version from Pavel Nikitin. Here there really super. Simply you about it probably did not hear...

I get a huge rush of nostalgia whenever I hear Dizzy 1's title screen from the Amstrad version.
My favourite music from the main series is probably Prince of the yolkfolk on the Amstrad and Spectrum (being exactly the same and all) Of course the C64 version is the same composition but i don't know what they did to it, it sounds awful.
