About the Game
Dizzy and Daisy were out in the enchanted forest picking blue berries for a pie they were making for a dinner party.

"These berries aren't very big!" muttered Dizzy, plucking the minuscule fruit from a bush.
"I can see some bigger ones over there" said Daisy.
Dizzy trotted over to the bush "These are still too small", he said forlornly, "we're never going to get enough!"
"How about these?" pointed out Daisy wandering yet further into the wood.

Before they knew it, the two eggs had wandered far into the forest.
By the time they reached the banks of the Great Torrent River, the two knew they had become hopelessly lost.

Suddenly, Daisy heard a twig snap.
Dizzy span around to be confronted by Rockwart the Troll and a gang of ferocious looking Henchtrolls.

"I have you now little Egg!" breathed Rockwart in his most sinister voice.
Quick as a flash, Dizzy grabbed Daisy's hand and the pair ran desperately toward the river.
"Hee Hee Hee!" laughed Rockwart manically as the trolls moved in ever closer.

But Dizzy had a plan - "Jump in here Daisy" he cried as he somersaulted towards and abandoned apple barrel.
"We've escaped" he shouted back to the trolls in glee.

Daisy screamed because she could only see what was in front of them...
Trivia & History
Dizzy Down the Rapids” is one of many arcade games in the Dizzy series.

Developed by Big Red Software and published by Codemasters for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC 464 and the Commodore 64 in April 1991.

The game was also released as part of the 8-bit “Dizzy’s Excellent Adventures” compilation.

Down the Rapids is heavily based on an arcade game called “Toobin”.
Like “Bubble Dizzy”, this game derived from a mini-game found in “The Fantastic Adventures of Dizzy”.

The gameplay itself sees Dizzy (and Daisy in 2 player mode) riding on barrels down a river full of waterfalls, and avoiding obstacles and enemies at the same time.
Most of the game is also based on trial and error.

Each player has a limited supply of apples to throw at enemies.
However, the only way to gain more apples is to hope that any enemies killed will give you more.
Losing a life will also give the player a small amount of apples.

The Commodore 64 version had a different set of levels, aswell as bonus stages after each level.
