I wanted to start a page on Yolkfolk that should have been done years ago.

Basically what I'm asking for is any scans of the Dizzy game boxes/cases, something like this but bigger and better quality.
At the moment, we don't have things like that hosted on the site.

If you have any scans of the tapes, disks, cartridges etc. I'll accept them too.

Hopefully if there's enough, I can start work on a new page on the site.

Hope you guys can help out.
If you have any scans, feel free to post them here.

Got some promising replies on Facebook. One person even shared a photo showing his big collection of Dizzy games/items.

Any scans we receive or any links that get posted here, I'll upload them to the site's ftp and add them onto a list which will be appearing on the first post of this thread with your name next to it.

Keep in mind that I'm not online all the time so don't expect me to respond immediately for some days.

Thanks again, peeps.

I have a massive collection but no idea if our printer has a scanner or if it's connected. I'll find out tomorrow.

Bloody Nora, this is the busiest I've ever been in the Dizzy front for a long time! {yolkfolk}

Colin, if you have any more, could you by any chance post them on this thread instead of PM'ing me?
Since the scans will be made public anyway.

We already have a page for the Posters, but I may add your one's onto the page.

As the the manuals I've received so far, I think I'll do a separate page for those, keep them all apart.

Thanks so much for your help, keep em coming peeps. {yolkfolk}:thumb:

EDIT: Colin's scans of the posters can be found here.

That's OK.

I should be expecting more scans from a few peeps from Yolkfolk's Facebook.

See what happens this week and then hopefully the site should be seeing some new pages before this month's Newsletter's published.

Remember, I'm still open to anyone who wishes to share their Dizzy games scans.

Let me know if there are any broken links.

Excellent. Well I noticed Colin Page used a much higher dpi so I'm rescanning them and the tapes and adjusting the size to a similar scale. The files are gonna be big, so I think the best thing is I create a folder on dizzyzone.org.uk and plant them there and you can then grab them out of the directory. I'll let you know when they're done and where I've dumped them.

OK, I'll download them now and I'll get them uploaded onto Yolkfolk when I have more time.

Many thanks.

I'm doing a bunch of others also for all the other games and platforms, it's taking an unbelievable amount of time scanning and cropping them though. I'm looking at several days' worth of scans. I think I'm maybe only a dozen platforms short of the entire games collection, so yeah it's a lot of work!

I've divided them up into these folders for ease of access:

http://www.dizzyzone.org.uk/media/inlays
http://www.dizzyzone.org.uk/media/disks
http://www.dizzyzone.org.uk/media/manuals

So far all scans for PC and 16bit systems are done except the compilations and some of the big box stuff. I managed to crash the scanner though and it won't let me scan more. I'll have to have Tony take a look at it tomorrow when he gets home from work.

Good luck on grabbing the images off my site. It's taken me 2 days to just scan in most of the 16bit stuff. I haven't even scanned in the compilation stuff yet, and I still got the 8bit, NES and Sega stuff to scan in. It looks like the web server is also getting full. I had to delete a load of backup stuff to free space, hoping I've given myself enough free space to do the rest of the scans. Glad I'm not hosting the fan-made games as I would just end up with no space left at all.

btw I noticed the quality of the scans aren't brilliant. This scanner really isn't for photo quality scans despite having a photo quality mode on it. Either that or I'm missing something and could've just wasted 2 days' worth of non-stop scanning.

OK, I uploaded your first lot of scans onto the ftp and I'll see how much scans I can download tonight, my time online is quite tight at the moment and I hope to get them all added onto the site either Thursday evening or Friday evening.

Thanks again for your hard work. I promise you, I WILL eventually get these scans on Yolkfolk by the end of this week!

Right, most of your scans are now on the site! {yolkfolk}:yahoo:
There maybe a few I've missed out and a couple I had a resize because of the insane file sizes, the Quattro Arcade Amstrad disk being 27 megs. {yolkfolk}

I know you've said on your site that you've got more scans on the way and I'll certainly be ready for them possibly either tomorrow or Saturday evening.

The manual scans are on the separate page too.

Let me know if there's any broken links.
