A Pirate's Life Dizzy (HELP THREAD)

hmmmmmm I don't know what to say.
Been playing this over the weekend - it's brilliant.
Almost finished it. I've got all the scroll pieces and the ladder but have no idea what to do next. I'm guessing it's something down the wishing well but can't see any likely puzzles. Also, I never made any use of the beehive - has that got something to do with it?
Any help much appreciated - I would love to finish this.

Look for a root that you need the ladder to reach. It's somewhere that you have walked past a ton of times.
I never found a use for the hive and oddly the only thing I ever found down the well was one piece of eight.

I only recently found this FANTASTIC fan game... And love it! But as with so many of the Fan games I am STUMPED and very Early on as well!
So lets go through where I am...
Gone through the Mirror - And solved the first puzzle... Easy enough!
Met the Miner...
Figured out the Passkey
But Other than that... Totally perplexed! I cannot fond any way to get to the Governors House... Or what!
Boy! The puzzles here are damn good! Its bound to be right under my nose, but I cannot see it...

Just go steadily through this thread as you progress if you get stuck, thats what i did.. this is a MASSIVE game with LOADS of puzzles... one of my top few favourites..
Warren, there are a number of things you can do at that point but the one that will open up the most of the game is finding the mine cart brake. It is in a hidden cave that is near the empty chest/waterfall.
Thank you all! I cannot believe that after my history with DIZZY on my old CPC (God thats going back!) I missed some very obvious clues!!! LOL!
I have solved the Rock Cake Puzzle and Rescued the Prisoner now... Also got my Scuba Gear (How obvious was that!!! :sad: Doh!)...
Will now go and find that Brake shoe... :smile:
And will get back here next time I am stumped! LMAO!

@colin Omg, i must of overlooked something, the only 7 letter words in the hotel that i can see are candles, bedroom & picture :wall:

Hi, Can anyone help out here, upon almost completing the game, i had to restart due to an error, only this time there is no caged pirate on board the ship, which means i'll not be able to complete the game. Can this be fixed in some way?
I've usually found Colin's games to be 'bug' free, so had a quick check of the map and coding. I think you have to learn about the pirate before he appears in the cage. Looking at the coding it seems that this is triggered when talking to the stalls owner about 'knowing a pirate that the authorities are looking for' ..so assume that you have to have read a poster or something before this conversation is triggered, otherwise he just talks about the content of his stalls.
