The 'Other' Cancelled Dizzy Game

Long before the heartbreak left behind by 'Dizzy Returns', we go further back in time to around November 2003 when we were greeted to what looked like a new Dizzy game teaser.

The teaser in question was located on the website 'fantasticdizzy.co.uk' (now defunct).

It showed a 3D image of Dizzy standing on the letters of this name, next to a wooden sign with a Quicktime video file on it.

The video showed what looked like footage of a 3D game that was also called "Dizzy - Prince of the Yolkfolk".

Interestingly, there were two versions of the video where different music is played.

Upon clicking the link saying "What's This?", it provides an explanation as to what the video was about.

"This is test artwork produced by Blitz Games to see how Dizzy would
make the move to a brand new 3D world.
This isn't preliminary work for a new game and there isn't a Dizzy game currently in production
but if you'd like to give Dizzy any feedback on his new look then email him here:
DizzyBlitzGames.com (now defunct).

If you want to join the petition to bring him back properly
then please visit (now defunct).

The Dizzy copyright is split evenly between Codemasters and The Oliver Twins
and we'd like to thank Codemasters for allowing us to show you this new artwork."

The Oliver Twins were asked about this teaser video in recent years.
It turned out that around that time, Codemasters had considered giving Blitz Games a chance to make a new Dizzy game.

But predictably, Codemasters soon decided not to go ahead with it and left Dizzy in a 'grey area' once again.
